i tried building plan9port and 9base-6; neither worked. rsc commented[1], "Termux is not a supported build platform. It's clearly very incomplete." i decided at that point to use one of the more complete linux chroots instead, and installed UserLAnd which provides several distros (including debian and alpine) in chroot form with trivial setup. i imagine it would be much easier to build p9p or drawterm in these chroots, but i haven't really used it because shoulder pain stopped me using my tablet for any length of time.

Minimal steps for non-graphics mode:

pkg install x11-repo
pkg install clang python2 make libx11 xorgproto
pip2 install mercurial
hg clone http://code.9front.org/hg/drawterm
cd drawterm
make CONF=unix -j4
./drawterm -G ...

interesting. cool you managed to compile it under termux. i imagine /mnt/term should see termux's view of the filesystem, what's different?

for x, this wouldn't be the first android program to require a mouse, but you could get better 3-button emulation by running Xvnc and choosing a good vnc viewer. if drawterm accepts an argument to set the window size, then you could probably omit the window manager.

At least on my phone (non-rooted) namespaces aren't working. Nor does fusermount (perhaps unrelated).
