so what's the .new one composed of?
actual real subscribers?
where does the hue .old list come from?
and are the lines all unique so the mailinglist was spamming all kinds
of unsubscribed valid destinations ?

address-list is chmod +a (append only). when someone unsubscribes an exclamation point is placed in front of their e-mail address and appended to the address-list. when the list is processed, ! means don't send mail to that address. there were several thousand appearances of !cat-v-owner in the cat-v mailing it's address-list, but no appearance of cat-v-owner without the leading !. no, i'm not sure how they got there, and no, i don't *think* this would result in any action at all. strange, though.
