Hello,

awk(1)'s lexer currently does not really support unicode, so one
cannot have unicode in variable names.

For instance:

; awk 'BEGIN{ N₀=foo; λ=bar } {print N₀*exp(-λ*$1)}'

... won't do.

Perhaps this is a silly request, but would it be possible to add
support for unicode in names?

Of course, one could always just not use unicode.

Thanks!
