CATALG2011 - First announcement

Dear Colleagues,

we are pleased to inform you that the second Workshop on Categorical Algebra:

CATALG2011 - “Recent developments and future perspectives”,

will take place in Gargnano (GARDA lake) from September 27th to October 1st 2011.

Our idea is to organise a true "workshop", with only a few invited  talks, some
open problem sessions, and some time for informal discussions.

The Scientific Committee (M. Gran, S. Mantovani and E.M. Vitale) decided to invite
Dominique Bourn, George Janelidze and Marco Grandis as Main Speakers:  they will give an invited 2 hour talk and chair a 1 hour "open problem session", jointly with a member of the Scientific Committee.

Besides the three Main Speakers, the Scientific Committee invited for a 1 hour talk,
a few leading researchers in categorical algebra, namely T. Everaert, T. Janelidze, Z. Janelidze,
S. Lack, G. Metere, D. Rodelo and T. Van der Linden. All of them have confirmed their presence.

Finally, Walter Tholen kindly accepted to close the workshop with the last talk.

Although there will be no other scheduled talk, there will be an open poster session to present
and discuss results and investigations in categorical algebra.

The workshop will start with a welcome buffet on Tuesday September 27th,  in the late afternoon.
Talks are scheduled from Wednesday September 28th, in the morning, till Saturday October 1st,
before noon.
