Hi all,

I have an interesting class of spans I am studying, namely all those
whose 'source leg' comes
from a particular class J of arrows (this is in a 2-category, in case
you are interested).

Has this been considered before, and if so, what were they called?

If not, I considered using the name 'J-spans', but this doesn't quite
sit right with me; without an
explanation, this might seem like a span of arrows in J.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

David Roberts

You could try "left J-spans" (assuming that you write the source leg on the left in your diagrams).
