Leaving digests drops ephemeral groups in my Summary Buffer since the
last CVS update. Perhaps this is realted to this change?

Whereas for me, entering digests is no longer possible:

(C-d gives me the preceding backtrace and no summary buffer for the
ephemeral group ever shows up).
