Gnus v5.6.10 is released

Gnus v5.6.10 is released

[Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen]

Special one-month-since-the-last-release-which-was-the-
special-May-first-release bug fix release.  (Longest time between two
Gnus releases ever?  *sob*)

Get it from <URL:http://www.gnus.org/gnus.tar.gz> or 
"/ftp@ftp.gnus.org:/pub/emacs/gnus/".  The patch is available as
<URL:http://www.gnus.org/patches/gnus-5.6.9-5.6.10.diff.gz>.

Gnus still installs into /share rather than /usr/local/share.

Also is it possible to have the lisp files installed into
$(prefix)/share/emacs/site-lisp and $(prefix)/share/xemacs/site-lisp
respectively?                                       ^^^^^^

I can't read my gzipped nnfolder groups anymore.  (I use the crypt++
package, which gunzip's files automatically based on their contents.)
Can this change be undone?

Lars, why haven't you applied my NT fixes?  To remind, the fixes
slapped `regexp-quote' around several places where you used file names 
as regexps.

I can resend them if needed.

If they were sent to bugs@gnus, I just haven't gotten to them yet.

They were.  At least I think so.  It would be nice if you merged them
soonish because they are mandatory to get Gnus started on XEmacs under 
Windows.  Other than these minor things, Gnus appears to work
perfectly in that environment.  (wow)

Not binding `find-file-hooks' to nil is a security hole, so I can't
undo this.  `jka-compr' uses `auto-mode-alist' -- can't you switch to
that instead?

If someone sends you a mail which contains text that triggers
something from `find-file-hooks' when read in, that could potentially
be baaad.  As in _very_ bad.

I would say that is the users own problem but couldn't you aliviate(sp?)
that by letting it to the value of
find-file-known-to-be-not-very-bad-but-instead-extremely-safe-functions
instead of nil?
