[Emacs 20.7.2, Gnus v5.8.8]

I have `gnus-use-cache t' to arrange for ticked articles in some IMAP groups to
be cached.

However, when these articles are permanently deleted on the IMAP (Exchange)
server, the tick marks on the corresponding cached articles are lost.

It seems the Gnus IMAP support attempts to store marks with the corresponding
articles on the server, but when an article is no longer available on the
server, its marks cannot be retrieved and the cached article loses its
"tickedness". I believe tick marks are cached locally, but the non-existence
of the remote article appears to take precedence.

The effect is that these ticked (and cached) articles are no longer listed in
the Group buffer as such, and they are instead shown with the "O" mark when I
enter the group.

Is there any way to still see cached articles as ticked even when the
corresponding article on the server has been deleted?

Thanks,

    --- John
