I've just pulled down Gnus from git here (I'm on vacation), and it
seemed to take an awful long time, and it downloaded all these packs and
things. Should the Gnus repository be, er, repacked or whatever it is
one does?

And I seem to be unable to push anything:
larsi@vaio:~/pgnus$ git push
error: Cannot access URL https://git.gnus.org/gnus.git/, return code 22
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://git.gnus.org/gnus.git'
The error log on quimby seems to be this helpful message:
Request not supported: '/home/gnus/html/gnus.git/'

Too old version of git. I've now compiled one myself, and it seems to
work OK.
