CVS Gnus hangs on `gnus-summary-show-article'

Hi,

i updated to the latest CVS gnus. It seems to hang on the article
included below when pressing `gnus-summary-show-article' and also on
`gnus-summary-copy-article'. I waited up to 30 seconds for display (< 1
sec is normal), but nothing happens. So i set `toggle-debug-on-quit' and
quitted:

Maybe a big backtrace in the regexp machine cause of the regexp? Should
i wait a longer?

Fixed. But message-cite-prefix-regexp is still problematic.

Expanding out the grouping for leading and trailing whitespace and
removing the combination stuff:

(setq message-cite-prefix-regexp
"[ \t]*\\(\\w\\|[_-\\.]\\)+>+[ \t]*\\|[ \t]*[]>»|:}+ ]*[]>»|:}+][ \t]*")

improves things a lot, but now interleaved supercite and non-supercite
citations aren't correctly detected by m-n-a-r.

I think that's a small price to pay.

I've changed it to
  "[ \t]*\\(\\(\\w\\|[-_.]\\)+>+[ \t]*\\|[]>»|:}+][ \t]*\\)+"

The syntax-entry ?- "w" in gnus-article-mode-syntax-table also caused
the problem. I've commented it out.

I'm still having problems on the root message  of this thread.  I just
pulled and built from CVS.

Ahh very sorry, my mistake.  When I was pulling to the citation fixes
I accidentally did a 'make install' which doesn't do what I need and I
didn't see it originally since I was looking for the source .el file.

It's working fine now.

Are you sure that you were using the latest gnus-art.el and didn't
make any change of the syntax table?
