Hide headers

Hide headers

[Dr. Pete Gieser]

To toggle header display, you use W t.  However, this must be done for
every article.   Is there a way to make it permanent?

Yep.  You may have inadvertently hit the global toggle key: v.  Just hit it
again and life will toggle back to hidden headers.  

Maybe this key shouldn't be in such an easily accessible location?

I think it should be moved to e.g. `W v' even if this is an
incompatibility.

I think so too.  Fix in September 0.36.

Actually, it doesn't work for me.  I'm running v0.32 under Emacs 19.30 for
AIX.  v seems to exhibit the same behavior as W t (or t).

I get the full header when going to the next article no matter what I do.
I want permanent short headers.

Do you not have gnus-article-hide-headers-if-wanted and/or
gnus-article-hide-boring-headers in your gnus-article-display-hook?
If not, see if adding one or the other or both does what you want.  I
have both in there, but I'm pretty sure that's from the defaults.  I
get short headers as I want.  Also check that the gnus-visible-headers
and gnus-ignored-headers variables are set the way you want them to
be.

I believe I have cleared up the confusion.  Putting hooks in my .emacs
did not seem to work.  Using Customize seemed to.  I wonder if there was
some interaction.

In the summary buffer it's "Lower author regexp <beep>".  Curses!
We definitely need a duration spec that uses `s' as the key...
