I tried "make latexpdf" and xpmtoppm didn't like $GNUSDIR/etc/gnus.xpm:

xpmtoppm from netpbm release 9.9 (2000-11-20) seem to work, maybe you
need something newer.

ancient version...

Hmmm... those vi mugs /are/ kinda cool. though... how about a Gnus
barrel with the refcard printed on it. And an XEmacs super tanker to
