Ok.. I have $HOME/.mailrc with e.g.:
alias VENU "Pawel Lachman <neco@venus.wis.pk.edu.pl>"

But when I send mail to "venu", it's comes
back with "user unknown".

Propably I have to use "build-mail-aliases" function.
But I don't still dont know how..
(build-mail-aliases) ??
(build-mail-aliases ".mailrc")

I can't find it in man.

 regards, neco.

You should type venu in the to-header and then press space. After
this action the real email-address will appear in the to-header and
you can start writing your email.

You have to press SPC (or the like) after the abbreviation to expand
it.

I really don't think you should have to do that. You certainly didn't/don't
have to do that in mail-mode. sendmail.el's sendmail-send-it function uses
mailalias.el's expand-mail-aliases function before actually sending the
message. It's possible to put a function that does the same thing in
message-send-mail-hook (that's what I do now), but I think it should be done
automatically.

The advantage of requiring you to hit SPC is that WYSIWYG: with it,
you see the real address stuff will be sent to, without it, you might
be surprised.

But maybe Gnus should provide a simple method such that mail alias
expansion happens as for the old mail mode, i.e. a function to expand
all aliases in the current buffer and a hook where this function can
be added. The hook already exists, does the function exist, too?

Message uses mailabbrev, and (like all other abbrev modes), it doesn't
do anything behind your back. I like that in a program.
