* Reconnecting to server prior to send-mail-function

When I type g (bound to gnus-group-get-new-news) in the group buffer,
if the servers have timed out, there is logic that will reconnect to
the specific server.

My GCC mailbox is stored over nnimap. When it closes, the Gcc code
hangs the emacs process leading to a confusing state of "did my
message get sent?"

Is there a function that I can add to my own 'send-mail-function' that
will cause the server to be reopened if necessary?

Thanks,
Chris
