That is a minor problem, but with tens of thousands of news groups
accessible on a full feed (what is the current number now?), it makes
some sense to not keep it because maybe 1/10 of 1% are `interesting'
to any one person.

I agree, and I also like the side effect of these options settings in
my own environment -- Gnus *really* flies ... :-)
