Yeah, but I was just wondering where the gnutls layer would stash
information like that.  We certainly don't want the user to be queried
about the invalid certificate every time she connects to the IMAP
server, so it needs to be saved somewhere.

The netrc file is for Humans, I think.  Perhaps you can stash this in
Customize?  :-)
