Could it be that the ML software replaces the Message-ID headers of
incoming messages with their own?  If I inadvertently have a Gcc
header in a message I compose, I'll end up with two copies of the
message.

Was this intentional?

What ML software?

But, yes, there's nasty mailing list software that does all kinds of
weird stuff to the headers...

The software that runs ding@gnus.org.  I think that was the one I was
talking about.  Though I'm not sure -- I lost the old copy of my
message.

Ok.  Well, it seems to keep the Message-ID on my messages:

  Message-ID: <m3og30opta.fsf@quimbies.gnus.org>

But perhaps it found something odd with one of your Message-IDs and
decided to fiddle with it?  But your Message-IDs look OK to me...
