It seems to me that nneething recognized that these were mail messages
-- how could it otherwise pick out the subject and stuff?  I think you
may be confused as to what the purpose of nneething is -- it is not to
read collections of mailboxes; it is to read collections of arbitrary
files.  Each file gets one line in the summary buffer.
