Hi folks,
I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly nnimap-split-rule is
supposed to do.
I use nnml splitting all the time to good effect, but just recently
I've started using IMAP at work with gnus nnimap.
In .gnus I have:
(setq nnimap-split-rule
'(("INBOX.cron" "^Subject:.*Cron*")
("INBOX.restarts" "^Subject:.*query restart*")
("INBOX.important" "^To:.*Bruce*")
("INBOX.important" "^CC:.*Bruce*")
))
I've manually created those mail boxes on my imap server with 'G m' in
the Groups buffer, just in case.
Yet when I get emails matching my regexps, nothing seems to happen.
Am I leaving something out?

Argh. I had seen that, but in a moment of mistyping, I set
nnmail-split-inbox instead of nnimap-split-inbox. Doh.

The description of nnimap-split-rule contains the following sentence:
Mail is read from mailbox(es) specified in `nnimap-split-inbox'.
The default value of nnimap-split-inbox seems to be nil.
