`article-hide-pgp' and friends don't seem to do anything useful now
that we have real PGP support.

If that's correct shouldn't we remove them?

Unfortunately, XEmacs and Emacs 20 accept only two arguments in
the make-obsolete-variable function.  Could you please correct
it?

`make-obsolete-variable' is an interactive compiled Lisp function
  -- loaded from "xemacs-21.4.12/lisp/bytecomp-runtime.elc"
(make-obsolete-variable VAR NEW)

Compiling gnus/lisp/deuglify.el...
While compiling toplevel forms in file gnus/lisp/deuglify.el:
  !! Wrong number of arguments ((make-obsolete-variable 3))
