The return of the \201

Is anyone else seeing \201 with current Emacs from CVS and current
(Oort) Gnus from CVS?  They appeared not so long ago, in the past few
days perhaps.

AOL!  (And I see the correct display in the current EMACS_21_1_RC
branch.)

I though it might be a built problem; because "make bootstrap" fails:

I see some `Loading foo (compiled; note, source file is newer)...done'
messages.  Dunno if this might be related.

Yes, i can see it too, also with Gnus-5.9. I think its Emacs specific
and not Oort. I'm not sure, but i think it's since 10.02.2003. The
Emacs built from cvs-10.02.03 have this problem, and builds before
never have this on my machine.

Ah, it happens with Gnus 5.9, too?  That's promising: one could post
on the emacs-devel list.  Do you want to do that?
