Sorry for the long message. I'd trim the output, but I'm afraid to
delete relevant info.

In any case, I can't do a "G c" on an imap group (while it works with
any other backends I use). Below is the backtrace.

Using Gnus 5.8.3 and Xemacs 21.1.8.

It seems that this error has been there for a while now.  Hm.  I think
that Simon has said something about this before?

Maybe nnimap should be changed to use (uivalidity "foo") rather than
(uidvalidity . "foo")?

If I remember correctly it is a problem with some customization stuff.

However, as a quick solution:
-edit the group with "G p"
-replace the (uidvalidity xxx) by nil and "C-c C-c"
-now enter the customization with "G c"

Thanks, this worked! However, it worked for only one time -- after I
entered and exited a group I was no longer able to "G c" it. ;^)

Is there any way I could hack it a bit more permanently?

It's a bug in nnimap triggering a bug in `wid-edit.el'.  I have send
patches to both emacsen for the `wid-edit.el' bug, but that won't help
current users.
