Subject: Sgnus 0.32 trashed my .newsrc.eld
Date: 01 Feb 1996 19:24:31 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <tispgu7vkw.fsf@anaphi.vlsivie.tuwien.ac.at> (raw)
subject says it all
my .newsrc.eld looked like: ;; Gnus startup file.
;; Never delete this file - touch .newsrc instead to force Gnus
;; to read .newsrc.
(setq gnus-newsrc-file-version ("a.bsu.programming" "a.bsu.talk"
.
.
.
lots of newsgroups (killed ones)
.
.
.
"alt.culture.alaska" "alt.culture.araab-league"
"alt.culture.arab-league" "al"September Gnus v0.32")
all this on the same line.
the last one is somehow [:-)] offending gnus on the next startup
(unbalanced quoutes and parenthesis)
all the rest is ok:
(setq gnus-newsrc-last-checked-date '"Thu Feb 1 15:05:12 1996")
(setq gnus-newsrc-alist '(("gnu.emacs.gnus" 6 ((1 . 6448) (6450 . 6491) ....
(setq gnus-killed-list '("a.bsu.programming" "a.bsu.talk" ...
(setq gnus-zombie-list '("ut.ecf.student" "geometry.software.dynamic" ....
(setq gnus-format-specs '((article-mode "Gnus: .....
well gnus doesn't barf if I delete the first list
- yes that's not a bug fix, it just made all my groups reappear
(including this one).
I don't know what happened.
Just wanted to know if somebody else had similar problems.
cheers,
albrecht
