Currently we have a lot of security key bindings:

,----
| C-c RET C s	mml-secure-encrypt-smime
| C-c RET C o	mml-secure-encrypt-pgp
| C-c RET C p	mml-secure-encrypt-pgpmime
|
| C-c RET c s	mml-secure-message-encrypt-smime
| C-c RET c o	mml-secure-message-encrypt-pgp
| C-c RET c p	mml-secure-message-encrypt-pgpmime
|
| C-c RET S s	mml-secure-sign-smime
| C-c RET S o	mml-secure-sign-pgp
| C-c RET S p	mml-secure-sign-pgpmime
|
| C-c RET s s	mml-secure-message-sign-smime
| C-c RET s o	mml-secure-message-sign-pgp
| C-c RET s p	mml-secure-message-sign-pgpmime
`----

I was thinking: Do people switch a lot between using S/MIME, PGP and
PGP/MIME, or do they usually use the same method?

If the latter is true, wouldn't it be friendlier to have a shorter key
binding, say, `C-c RET s' for signing with the default method. If
invoked with a prefix argument it could query for which method to use.

Well, I have never seen people using both PGP and S/MIME. As for PGP and
PGP/MIME -- well, I do switch them sometimes.

Agreed. And the same for encrypting would be also nice IMHO

I use s/mime at work (it's what the company uses) and pgp among
friends. I like the idea of setting a default for a shorter key
binding as long as the current bindings remain so I don't have to
remember to reset a variable or remembering to C-u in order to use the
alternate.
