Not quite sure what's important here, but:
BASH=/usr/bin/bash
BASH_VERSINFO=([0]="2" [1]="05b" [2]="0" [3]="9" [4]="release" [5]="i686-pc-cygwin")
BASH_VERSION='2.05b.0(9)-release'
...
FOO=bar
...
HTTP_PROXY=[my-proxy-server]
The value for HTTP_PROXY is correct.

Certainly, but I don't know how to verify it. As I said in
my original mail:
