Subject: Missing `References:' header after crash
Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 23:18:35 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <v9r88n1bh0.fsf@marauder.physik.uni-ulm.de> (raw)
Hi,
when your Emacs session, X Server or OS crashes while replying, the
auto-save file (.../drafts/#42#) will not have a `References:' header.
And so does the article if you recover and send the message. IMHO
news clients that don't generate proper `References:' headers (even if
it only happens from in case of an error) suck.
Therefore, I suggest to change the *default* value of
`message-generate-headers-first' to '(references) as a workaround.
Opinions? A proper solution would be to force writing the
`References:' even if `message-generate-headers-first' is nil somehow.
Bye, Reiner.
