Hi,

I'm relatively new to gnus...

I'm moving and I will have very slow access to the net for a while -
hence I disabled nntp and want to use nnml only.

Now I'm having a weird problem. After pressing 'g', gnus gets the new
mail. But then I have to execute gnus-group-get-new-news-this-group
manually to update the group's information. Very annoying, even moreso
because I have to do it for each group.

Any ideas what went wrong?

cheers Dirk

What did you do to disable nntp?

You could just use M-x gnus-no-server RET, that won't contact your
NNTP server. (If the nntp server is in gnus-select-method and your
nnml server is in gnus-secondary-select-methods.)
