Dormant like ticked?

Dormant like ticked?

For various reasons, I want to have two marks which are like ticked.
So I'm using dormant for the second kind.  But when a group has no
fresh messages, it is difficult to see just the dormant messages,
without also seeing all the ones that are marked as read.

Suggestions?

`/ D' displays the dormant messages.

I would like to see the dormant messages without also seeing all the
read messages.  I tried `1 =' to enter the group, then `/ D'.  But
that doesn't show me any dormant messages.

It works to mark one message as unread, then enter the group, then `/
D'.  That's what I mean with `difficult'.

Oh, I see.  Hm.  Didn't I write something to do the right thing
here?

Nope, doesn't look like it.

I've now added `Y d' to do this.

Y d runs the command gnus-summary-insert-dormant-articles
   which is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `gnus-sum'.
(gnus-summary-insert-dormant-articles)

Insert all the dormat articles for this group into the current buffer.


I'm a bit confused what the command should do. From the description I'd
expect the articles to be displayed in the summary buffer, but I get a
list of article numbers in the echo area instead:

Article (47969 48139 48162 48203 48204 48480 48627 48696 49191 [...] )
