Please forgive my earlier confusion... I think you've resorted to
.SCORE files to make use of the all.SCORE file. ie. to specify
rules for a heirarchy which isn't possible in group parameters so I
can live with that.

It's just that the .SCORE files weren't been re-read when I touched
them.

You need to flush the score cache `W f' to make Gnus re-read score
files. A fix for this is on the Red Gnus todo list.

Well, if I'm going to be forced to specify things like (adapt ignore)
etc in .SCORE files I'd like to see the .SCORE file re-read when it's
been touched. I'm in 5.2.37 and I'm noticing that if I invalidate a .SCORE
file by adding an extra "(" it's not picked up until I quit gnus and
restart.

I want the score file re-read when it's recognised that it's newer
than the one loaded before.

Is there a bug I'm unaware of?

I would have thought that I could control whether a group used adaptive
scoring via it's group parameters list but all efforts have failed. In
fact it seems that group parameters are no longer a prefered method of
define a groups characteristics and that we have to use .SCORE files?

Could somebody please clear this up?
