FYI.
In my message <wtnr8i67fyk.fsf@licia.dtek.chalmers.se> I spoke of
\201's in 0.05 vs. 0.06. I just installed 0.07 and the same problem is
still there. In 0.07, I do not see \201 before the swedish characer
"ö" in the topic's names but in the group's names, I do not rember if
this was the case for 0.06. I have deleted 0.06 so I can't check.
gnus-group-name-charset-group-alist still has the same value.
