Gnus prevents overscrolling

Gnus prevents overscrolling

[Kai Großjohann]

For some time now, gnus-summary-scroll-up has been refusing to
`overscroll', that is the maximum scroll position is such that the
last line of the message is at the last line of the window.

But I think I actually like to overscroll, to put the last line of
the message in the middle of the window, say.

Is this possible?  How?  Does anyone have hints for an
implementation?  How about a user option?

I don't know.  I like to have stuff that I need to think about near
the middle of the window, I think.

Thank you! I always have difficulty believing that the last line of a
posting really is the last line and then get a shock when trying to
read the final line I find myself in a totally different message

Emacs has the variable indicate-empty-lines.

But that doesn't do anything in console mode.

I'm nasty, I know.  Now it turns out that SPC doesn't go to the next
article.

Actually, I wanted overscrolling only for RET...

Now let me go to some corner to repent for a while.
