Hi all,
I have an extra field within my bbdb database. Is there any easy way of
putting together a mail with only the recipients whose records match a
condition on my new field? Looking around the docs hasn't upturned
anything inspiring.
Cheers,
Spring

I think you should use `mail-alias':
,----[ (info "(bbdb)Mail Sending Interfaces") ]
| If you want a mail alias to be defined for a person, simply add a
| `mail-alias' field to their record. You may have multiple aliases for
| the same person; simply separate them with commas.
|
| [...]
|
| To actually define the aliases which are stored in the BBDB, call the
| function `bbdb-define-all-aliases' from your `mail-setup-hook' (or
| `message-setup-hook' if you use Message mode coming with Gnus). This
| will search the database, and call `define-mail-alias' to define each
| of the resulting aliases.
`----
I use it as follows:
;; Define mail aliases for some of the records in the database.
;; Every record which has a `mail-alias' field will have a mail alias
;; defined for it which is the contents of that field. If there are
;; multiple comma-separated words in the `mail-alias' field, then all
;; of those words will be defined as aliases for that person.
(eval-after-load "message"
'(add-hook 'message-setup-hook 'bbdb-define-all-aliases))
BTW:
| Gnus/5.090024 (Oort Gnus v0.24) Emacs/22.0.92 (gnu/linux)
Huch? Emacs 22 includes a more recent an less buggy version of Gnus
compared to Oort Gnus 0.24 (= Gnus 5.10.1): Gnus 5.11 (which
corresponds to Gnus 5.10.8 + several bug fixes).
Bye, Reiner.

That's just what I was looking for, thanks.

Fixed, thanks for pointing it out.
