Hi,
refering to my postings - cannot send newly created messages to
newsgroups - I probably found the solution:
I should have created local messages (i) instead of opening a new mail
(m), which I did.
In the latter case outgoing messages are send over the internet using
msmtp which addresses my ISP's server that doesn't know newsgroup's
addresses.
I got the tip from the manual - sorry for the thread.

What does hitting 'a' do for you in the Group or Summary buffer? And
you can see the message/news creation options in the Menubar-->Post
option.

I think you should create an article with "a".

Have you ever considered how much text can fit in eighty columns? Given that a
signature typically contains up to four lines of text, this space allows you to
attach a tremendous amount of valuable information to your messages. Seize the
opportunity and don't waste your signature on bullshit that nobody cares about.

I tried that, but not within a group; I started from the groups overview
window. But this also failed. I think starting a new article from within
the group also should do the job.
I know the post menu, but I hadn't all items in mind.

From the Groups buffer, try C-u a when the cursor is on the line of the
group you want to post to.

,----[ C-h f gnus-group-post-news RET ]
| gnus-group-post-news is an interactive compiled Lisp function in
| `gnus-msg.el'.
|
| (gnus-group-post-news &optional arg)
|
| Start composing a message (a news by default). _If arg, post to group
| under point._ If arg is 1, prompt for group name. Depending on the
| selected group, the message might be either a mail or a news.
