This is why you keep getting the same e-mails over and over again.
Since your mail is still on the server, Gnus will download it every
time.  If you want to stop this, remove this line from your .gnus
files and set up storage for your e-mails on your own computer.  The
mails will be deleted from the server when Gnus downloads them.

When you leave your mail on the server, you are treating your POP3
server like it is an IMAP server.  That works sub-optimally.  If you
want to leave your mail on the server rather than storing it on your
own computer, then you should be able to find an IMAP account
somewhere on the Internet.
