Given that
	while (this
	     # that
	       other) {  }

is legal, doesn't it seem strange to anyone besides me that

	w = (this
	   # that
             other)

isn't?

| Hm. Well, td's grammar doesn't allow it. It takes some fiddling around
| because '\n' is a token in rc, not just whitespace, but I don't see
| why it shouldn't be doable.

The question was more philosophical than practical. I just wonder what
posessed him to do it that way, when the alternative seems clearer and
more useful, at least in scripts.
