I'm afraid this isn't going to work for us. The tarball will be gone by tomorrow and the package would essentially be broken. If we are going to make an exception from the stable-releases-only-rule it would probably be better to use a tarball from github with a specific commit like other packages do. Also I think the date should be appended to the version number not replace it so if upstream ever releases 4.0.14 or 4.1.0 we can update without reverting the previous higher version.
