Don't know. But file is not a gnu Project and therefore these are not GNU extensions. But which linux system is running a different file implementation? Also I could not even say if my wonky string manipulations would produce the correct result with other file implementations.

I forgot that file is not GNU project.
POSIX seems to specify file, which triggers me to ask this question.
It looks like we should be fine if we bootstrap from other Linux distro.
Don't know if we support bootstrap from BSD, though.

Is this lint used in source bootstrap from other OSes?
`file --mime-type --files-from -` is GNU's extensions,
we may have trouble (I don't know about this.)
