New issue by K14D on void-packages repository

https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/issues/42689

Description:
### Is this a new report?

Yes

### System Info

Void 6.1.15_1 x86_64 GenuineIntel uptodate rF

### Package(s) Affected

gtk+3-3.24.37_1

### Does a report exist for this bug with the project's home (upstream) and/or another distro?

_No response_

### Expected behaviour

When I double click on a file or choose „Open with“ from context menu in file managers like nautilus or thunar the file should open in the registered/chosen application.

### Actual behaviour

If the registered/chosen application depends on gtk+3 nothing seems to happen. One can find a segfault error message in syslog (e.g.):

`2023-03-10T13:58:56.05209 kern.info: [11477.386779] gedit[19023]: segfault at 40 ip 00007f59bf4c5d40 sp 00007fff48588128 error 4 in libwayland-client.so.0.21.0[7f59bf4c4000+6000] likely on CPU 4 (core 4, socket 0)
2023-03-10T13:58:56.05212 kern.info: [11477.386789] Code: 89 20 41 bc ff ff ff ff eb 8f 48 89 77 30 c3 66 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 48 8b 47 30 c3 66 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 <8b> 47 40 c3 66 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 90 8b 47 10 c3 66 66`

This behavior started with the update to gtk+3-3.24.37_1

### Steps to reproduce

1. Use wayfire as window manager
2. Try to open file from graphical file manager (e.g. nautilus, thunar etc.) with double click or from context menu
3. Nothing seems to happen
4. The targeted gtk+3-based app crashes with segfault

Comment:
I can not reproduce this on GNOME. Nautilus (in which you seem to also be getting this issue) uses gtk4, so I doubt it's related to the gtk+3 update.

Comment:
It's not the file manager but the targeted application: Opening a PNG with GIMP (no gtk+3) works fine, but eog (gtk+3) fails to open the file. Btw. with Inkscape (gtk+3) I get a popup which says that the application will be closed because of an internal error.

Opening files in the gtk+3-dependend applications from the terminal works as expected.

I tried with hikari and had no problems. So it seems to be wayfire, gtk+3 related.

Comment:
Per the above Wayfire issue, and the nested [GTK issue link](https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/5701), this is actually a GTK+ bug that only triggered with Wayfire (due to the latter not supporting xdg_activation_v1) with the weird way Nautilus launches apps.

The GTK fix went "through to the (GNOME) 44 runtime" a couple of months ago source-wise.
