This is already fixed in Cinnamon 6, so either apply this patch or update to version 6.
### Expected behaviour
Try to change wallpaper in settings
### Actual behaviour
No preview is available, selecting different files won't change background
### Steps to reproduce
1. Go to "System Settings" -> "Backgrounds"
2. Select wallpaper
