The thread discusses reverting a commit, though later it seems a patch was created, which can be found here:
https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL-1.2/commit/f10b27cc9f3e7e201080a245d1c23143e013fad2

Presumably applying that commit as a patch should resolve the issue.

### Expected behaviour

The SDL_VIDEORESIZE event should get called every time the window is resized.

### Actual behaviour

(as mentioned in the linked issue) The SDL_VIDEORESIZE event rarely gets called when the window is resized, especially when being resized from the corner so that both width and height change.

### Steps to reproduce

1. Download sdl-resize-bug.c from the linked issue.
2. Compile with `gcc sdl-resize-bug.c -lSDL`
3. Run with `./a.out`
4. Resize the window from the corner
5. check the terminal output for the text "resize", which should be printed every time the window is resized.
