when I am typing and it gets to the end of the terminal instead of starting 
a new line it types over top itself --- (all my terminals do this, only got 
two)
how to fix?

This may prove useful with bash. Make sure your .bashrc files aren't interfering and if colors are in use, one of the highlighted answers may also prove useful.

If you're having the problem in a TTY it may require different solutions.
