I can not use the backlight keys which is no real issues but when I log out
the screen goes black with no cursor, using lxdm or not. I have tried
adding acpi_backlight=vendor, acpi_osi=Linux

acpi_osi="!Windows 2012", video.use_native_backlight=1, video.use_native_backlight=1, all with no change. I suspect building kernel with backlight set is my only option unless someone here has any suggestions.

At the point where you log out, are you logging out of an lxdm session? Have you tried restarting X with ctrl+alt+backspace?

Also try (installing):

xpbs-install intel-gpu-tools libva-intel-driver

I have narrowed it down to an issue with just enlightenment desktop, no
such issue on xfce. ctrl+alt+backspace or anything does nothing. Will
install gpu-tools and libva-intel-driver, thanks.

Well my ASSumption that it was a video issue since the f2 and f3 keys do
not increase or decrease the backlight was just that. This issue is with
e19 dimming the backlight on logout, disabling the feature solved it :)
