* [zsh 3.1.5] bug concerning 8-bit characters

With zsh 3.1.5, 8-bit characters are incorrectly interpreted.
For instance:

$ echo abéèêcd

prints nothing and does a cd. And a "history" gives:

[snip]
 2045  echo ab
 2046  cd
