Hello,
if things like calling zlecore() twice are possible (recursive-edit, again thanks for implementing that), then willing to ask:
- What are obstacles for activating Zle from prompt?
Maybe it's a decision made for increasing the viewed sophistication, advancement of Zshell – having 2 code execution modes that cannot easily be swapped might seem like an enterprise trait ;) or at least like an order.
Easy Zle access would allow people to e.g.: play with POSTDISPLAY and region_highlight. I already saw two-pane filemanager written this way, but it wasn't robust and had low commit count (maybe I recall its name, but cannot now).
