on the weekend before Fosdem we're organising a mini Plan9 hackathon
in Frankfurt.

we have booked a meetingroom that fits ~12 persons, and kitchen access
on Jan 27.-28.

I'm definitely coming.  I'll probably take the week after off
to follow up and in case we do something together with ori or

There are still some details that we can decide on together, so to
find a good consensus please try to attend the jitsi call tonight at
23:00 UTC / 0:00 CET

So far 8 people have indicated their interest to join. Three of us
live in a <3hour radius (zerous, qwx, me), but 3 are coming from
further away and might have less degrees of freedom. Let's discuss
their and other special needs tonight. Two I do not know yet, so
hopefully we can make an introduction round (maybe show off your rio
fork's color scheme or similar atrocities to set the mood).

Please be aware that sleeping opportunities are not provided. but we
can discuss tonight if some want to try and book the same hotel/hostel
together.

the accomodations around frankfurt are all booked out that weekend, so
we'll sadly drop the frankfurt hop.
cinap is flying malaga->dus->malaga in the end, so we'll instead stay
in cologne/dus for the weekend, maybe in some Breweries, bars, cafes,
or some public spaces like libraries.

when flights are confirmed i'll try to update here again.

we will try to find locations in cologne/dus to hang out friday
night/saturday/sunday instead.
otherwise the location would have been convenient on the way of
travels only for ori and me.

since cinap and aap come from much further away, i'm happy we were
able to let them veto our plans so flexibly before anybody booked
anything :)

i put everybody into CC who wanted to attend. please tell me if i
forgot somebody so far.

So far, aap, Jonas, qwx and ori will show up first (aap around 15:40,
Jonas around 19:00) in cologne, on the evening of Fri 26th.
me and cinap should be there slightly later, around 23:00 or midnight.

i understand if some might want to only show up around saturday, but i
can't say when / how long people will sleep after the friday evening.
so there will have to be further coordination.
for this purpose i recommend our IRC channel (#cat-v on oftc). Emails
on this ML are very delayed, esp. to shitty mailhosts like gmail.

I looked at public transport, but there's nothing faster than 9 hours.

it seems there will be something for everybody: uncomputing,
socializing, street computing and serious mortgage-driven
software-development. here's the schedule so far:

This is across the station and then on the other side of the cathedral.
since the train station is cold, i suggest that if you are the first,
or while figuring out where everybody else has gone, or lost, first
head to frueh brauhaus.
train arrival times of attendees a) 15:40 b) 19:04
later we'll find some bar or music venue for the night.

Hi, 

I’m currently not very active in using 9front or I never really appeared on the mailing list but I would join the hackathon. My knowledge became a bit rusty and coding C was ages ago.
Maybe I can be helpful in reviewing some docs, manpages, FQA or whatever.  
I also live in Cologne.
It’s also possible to provide some hardware if needed. Some small desktop switches, cables, a raspberry pi zero and 3B, some sensors (I2C, SPI) including wire-wrap stuff to avoid soldering on site, a Thinkpad R500 and X220 Tablet, a small intel Atom board which failes to run 9front, also on FreeBSD bhyve.

For those who are attending this weekend. Do we have a some platform to exchange details who’s there and where, who arrives when. IRC could be an option, but #cat-v seems to be very busy, maybe an alternate channel for the Hackathon.
I would join at Früh tomorrow around 20:00 - 21:30. 
Please keep in mind that there’s also a strike of the German railway.

removed martin, aap, cinap. added myself.

again: once we move locations we will update you here. the distributed
email architecture is quite resilient, esp. if you use the multiple
recipient features (like CC; mailing-list is too centralized on it's
own), so I'm not worried you will miss the emails. It's definitely
more safe than IRC in this regard.
