Hello, folks!
I'm about to buy ThinkPad T22 laptop, but --
someone reported that its Savage card should run in 16-bit: does it mean it does NOT run in 24 bits? It is important to me. Also, is its Intel PRO/100 net card supported (I found 100B listed)?

I must be positively sure about these two facts (24-bit colordepth & network connectivity) before buying.

Thanks for any other experience, too. Contact me directly at cej"at"gli.cas.cz if you feel it is not important for others.

Many thanks, regards,
++pac.

I have a T23 with an S3 SuperSavage card inside. It works at 1400x1050x32.

it is best to check aux/vga's source for any gotchas (for example,
virge.c:450 and onwards will tell you depth of 24 isn't there).

My T22 works in 1024x768x32, but there are graphics
artifacts when the image on screen is changing. After
the picture has changed, the artifacts disappear and
everything looks fine. But while the image is changing
(like during a window resize), horizontal lines of junk
appear around the screen. They seem somewhat related in
position to the screen area being updated, and their
colors are colors that appear elsewhere on screen. This
happens with hwaccel both on and off.

I haven't looked into it any further as I'm short on time
and 16-bit color works fine for me.

Micah
