precisely because troff consults it.

I keep getting things like this:
cpu% man backup
troff: warning: can't find hyphen.tex; stdin:40
I have probably done somthing silly but running
du -a /n/sources | grep hyphen
felt a bit antisocial.
Anyone any thoughts?
