[9fans] Plan 9 64-bit?

[Mayuresh Kathe]

I can't remember the name of the person, but he used to work for a
European research lab and had made a 64-bit version of an operating
system derived from Plan 9. That operating system had some interesting
features, one of which was the ability to isolate a process on a single
core of a CPU.

Does anyone have more details about that operating system? Or would
anyone know the name of that person?
It would be nice to work with that operating system and I would be
willing to pay a license fee to use it if granted access to the source
for personal study.

Not that I know of. People moved on to other projects afaik.

This isn't Nix Mark IV, but an earlier implementation.
I believe Nemo calls it "Nix Mark I".

http://www.9gridchan.org/ - they have 64 bit iso, that works for me in
VMWare, VitrualBox and bare metal.

I still run a version of that kernel on my cpu servers and some other
devices. There might be some changes I've made that I haven't pushed yet.
Unfortunately, I haven't had much time for systems work for a good year or
more, so I haven't merged in changes made elsewhere.
