[9fans] Discord community for Plan 9

All,

I'm not sure where the niche falls in place for this, if there is none
fine, but as someone presently attending uni I've noticed a trend that
no one my age bothers with IRC.

I want to do what I can to increase the surface area for those
interested to get access to the Plan 9 community, so I made a server at:
https://discord.gg/6daut5T

I'm not sure if this is a service used by anyone on this list, but if
there is anyone you're welcome to join the small number of us there.

My apologies to anyone who's offended by the concept of this service.
Feedback would be appreciated.

do your uni mates a favor and teach them how to use IRC, and save them a
few hundred megabytes of memory.

Sweet! I love using Discord, so joining was a no-brainer for me!

FWIW you might benefit from having maybe Mee6/TBot, just for some fun. I
mean, light humor is pretty integral to Plan 9 (*cough* 9front and Cirno
*cough*).

;-) no promises from me.

As a matter of fact, I proposed using Slack for the Inferno community but
got even less traffic there than from IRC..., so I'm skeptical that Discord
will do any better for plan9. As they say though, you miss 100% of the
shots you don't take.

There's nothing wrong with IRC, I just wish there were a searchable log of
the traffic since I don't personally have a long-running session.

And maybe on that point, perhaps mailing lists are the right choice.
