It's probably that we're setting up the card for
normal listening wrong, but we get promiscuous mode right.
What kind of card do you have?

This one is a Lynksys LNE100TX which uses the Linux DEC Tulip driver. I even yanked it out just now, so here are the
numbers on the chip:

Greetings,
Apparently something snoopy does in setting the card to promiscuous mode fixes the problem. I've verified this, from a
fresh reboot I get no ping response and then as soon as I run snoopy in another shell the replies show up.
Any ideas what it might be doing so that I can add it to my termrc?
